Surfacing Chargehand

Nicol of Skene Ltd, a respected and long-established civil engineering and groundwork contractor based in Aberdeenshire, is seeking a dedicated Surfacing Chargehand to join our experienced team on a permanent, full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the supervision of the surfacing teams to ensure works meet standards, comply with contract specification and prevent remedial actions.
• Assist with the preparation and issue of job instructions and ensure daily point of work risk assessment & briefing records are completed correctly.
• Produce and deliver key job information to Line Manager
• Ensure that all statutory and contractual requirements are met timeously for all projects under your control
• Assist Quantity Surveyor/Sites Manager during site visits with measurements as and when required
• Assist in identifying works outside the contract scope and report to Management and Commercial team
• Know, understand and follow the contract programme, and report on progress to Line Manager
• Know, understand and follow the contract Bill     of Quantities, and report on progress to Line Manager
• Ensuring surfacing team produce high-quality finish and safe site practices
• Working as part of a team on both public and private sector contracts
