As we settle into the festive season and begin to wind down for Christmas, we’ve taken a moment to reflect on this year’s fundraising efforts carried out by the Nicol of Skene team. As a family-run business with our people firmly at the heart of everything we do, it has been genuinely inspiring to watch colleagues from every division come together with such enthusiasm for two causes close to our hearts.

While we support our wider community in many ways throughout the year, this update focuses solely on the funds raised directly by our employees. Thanks to their commitment, teamwork, and creativity, we are humbled to share that a total of £10,479.34 has been raised for our chosen charities: The Archie Foundation and SCAA (Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance) — meaning £5,239.67 each.

What makes this achievement particularly special is that every penny has come from employee-led fundraising. Our people have taken on the Kiltwalk, the Beast Race, abseiling challenges, and our in-house distance challenge, where together we walked and cycled over 1,400 miles. They’ve also organised bake sales, raffles, and lucky-square fundraising at both the Echt and Black Isle Shows.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our clients, suppliers, friends, and families for supporting these efforts. Your kindness and encouragement have meant a great deal to our team.

And of course, a sincere thank you goes to our internal fundraising team for motivating, organising, and encouraging participation throughout the year.

Nathan from the Archie Foundation said: “The Archie Foundation would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Nicol of Skene for choosing and representing us so strongly throughout your Charity of the Year partnership. Raising an incredible £5,239.67 is no easy feat and will make a meaningful difference to families across the Noth East of Scotland.

This amount could fund 209 nights in our Parent’s Accommodation, helping families stay close to their loved ones during hospital stays without the financial worry, or provide 523 bereavement books to support children in navigating grief, or even purchase 349 Limbos, giving children the ability to bathe comfortably with a cast. These are just a few examples of the positive impact your generosity will have.

Thank you again for your remarkable support.”
